Deep Freeze

Well, 2024 has arrived and with it mother nature brought us our taste of winter. As you are well aware, being in central Texas our infrastructure isn’t built to accommodate sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods. While it would have been nice to hunker down in front of the fireplace to soak in the warmth the daily chores couldn’t wait until the weather warmed up. Sub freezing temperatures mean insuring the cattle have accessible water and plenty to eat. So we were out feeding and breaking ice out of the troughs. Of course we also welcomed in a new bull calf on the coldest day…..

Newborn bull calf, should we name him “Frosty”?

The cattle still need to eat
